"Rock Remembered" at Sal’s Longshot Lounge, Art Walk 1512 Hendry Street Ft. Myers, FL 33901 239.337.4662 info@worldfamouscigarbar.com ______________ As a child, my parents entered me into many of the city sponsored art contests in Boca Raton & Delray Beach, Florida, where I grew up. In addition, I attended various art workshops at the Boca Raton Art Museum. I have always had an artistic side and often would spend my free time coming up with projects to beautify my world (like plastering tiny pictures I cut out of magazines and covering my entire ceiling in my bedroom in my parents house growing up, this included the ceiling fan that hung above my bed). I also took many art classes in college, but the courses varied in disciplines. I basically took classes based on my particular interests at the time and less as part of my degree requirement. As a young adult, of course, I sought out other artist types. I mostly established myself in the Fort Lauderdale & Miami underground art scene. Luckily for me, many of my acquaintances were quite active in organizing and participating in collaborative events, many of which I attended and participated in myself. After spending some time learning from others how to organize and promote underground art shows I discovered I had quite the nack for putting together similar events and did so quite frequently (large and small scale) for years in my home town of Boca Raton. As an art student in college, I decided it would benefit me to attend a course to train me to be a nail technician. I graduated and worked in the field for about three months before I did nails for an architectural illustrator. We got along famously and she invited me to try my hand at architectural illustration by working for her in her studio. Of course, I took on the challenge and have been doing architectural illustration as my main career ever since (early 1990s). In 2003 I moved to Phoenix AZ where I spent much of my time painting large scale abstract pieces in bold bright colors. I threw a few events out there, but was eventually brought back to the Naples area to continue to pursue my illustration career. Currently I freelance as an architectural illustrator and pursue art shows in my free time.
